My Motherland
My Russia, Росси́я
Russia is the world’s largest nation, Russia borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Russia spans eleven time zones and is about 6,592,000 square miles with over 146 million people.
While we can trace the beginnings of Russia back to early BC, Ivan "the terrible" is considered by most historians as having founded the Russian state, in the late 14th century. He was the first Tsar to be proclaimed "Tsar of All Russia"
Russia's landscape ranges from tundra and forests to subtropical beaches. It’s famous for Moscow's Bolshoi and St. Petersburg's Mariinsky ballet companies. St. Petersburg, founded by Russian leader Peter the Great, has the baroque Winter Palace, now housing part of the State Hermitage Museum’s art collection.
We Russians are fiercly patriotic and love our Motherland. Our people are inteligent and passionate. While we still have struggles we must deal with in our homeland, we are use to such challenges and accept them with humor and resolute.
We Russians like the American People and their way of life. While we don't always agree politically, we love the fashion, style and friendlyness of Americans.

Happy Thanksgiving To My American Friends!
